Catsfield village voice

On Friday 28th September the ‘Classic Buskers’ perform at Catsfield Village Hall at 7.30pm.

The Classic Buskers are Michael Copley, who plays more than 40 woodwind instruments, and Ian Moore on accordion. Together they present hilarious and virtuoso arrangements of popular classical works. Their show appeals to all ages and musical abilities and the emphasis is definitely on fun and high quality music making. Tickets are available now from the Village Shop at £8, over 60’s and children at £5. There will be a bar. It sounds like an intriguing and amusing evening out!

The Mobile Library will be parked outside the Village Hall on Saturday 1st September from 4.15pm – 4.45pm.

Scott Lavocah writes- The Stoolball season is all but finished and it’s been another successful one. Catsfield mixed team won the Brightling Mixed tournament (3rd time in 4 years) and have only lost a few games all season. We have some good new younger players that have joined the mixed team, which I have to say is thriving. Sadly there haven’t been many ladies games, it appears this side of the game is struggling and some ladies teams have folded.

We took part in the Crowhurst mixed tournament on Sunday with a weakened team and although not making the final, we did beat the winners (Civil Service) in the group games. The Stoolball Club is looking to put on a fundraiser (probably a quiz) over the winter to raise money for new equipment.

On Sunday 2nd September the service of Holy Communion at St Laurence Church will be at the usual time of 9.30am.
