Friday 13 February: Brede Farmers Market is from 10am – 12 noon in Brede Village Hall. There is a selection of fresh fish and also of meat cuts. Local diary products and a bakery stall, apple juice and apples from Peter’s orchard. The hand made cards are beautiful and there are two fruit and vegetable stalls as well as a furniture stand. Have I whetted your appetite to visit go and have a browse if you have not done so before. Then treat yourself to a lovely cup of coffee when you have finished shopping. In Brede Village Hall this evening the bowlers are back in action at 7.30pm

Saturday 14 February: Sunday 15 February the Church Services are as follows: Father Anthony White conducts the Mass service at 9.00 am in St Theresa’s Catholic Church on the old Northiam Road, if you need to contact the Father his number is 01424 773125 St George’s Church Family Eucharist starts at 9.30am and St Mary’s Church Udimore will have Holy Communion at 9.30am. Father Martin can be reached on 01424 883408. The Methodist Church service in Broad Oak is at 10.30am and the Reverend J. Michael Ward will lead the service. Evening Prayer at St Georges Church is at 4.30pm.

Monday 16 February: Age Uk East Sussex – Brede Community Club begins at 10.30am – 3.30pm. After Coffee today’s selection is reading and sharing news, board games and who am I? Ruth is the entertainer singing with her guitar. The day is open to anyone who would like to join in any part of the activities If you would like to join them then please contact Maureen the Organiser for more information phone 01424 883282 or 07850 987130

Uniformed groups - Please contact the respective leaders if you wish your child to join this term. The Guiding section meet in the small hall of Brede Village Hall the Rainbows meet from 4.15- 5.15pm, they welcome girls aged between 5-7 years, the Brownies meet from 5pm – 6.30pm for girls 7-11 years old. You can also contact Hayley 07525168770 The younger Brede Scout sections begin and are all held in the Scout Hut Stubbs Lane, Beavers welcome Boys and girls from 6 years old they meet from 5.15pm to 6.15pm. Cubs meet from 6.30 – 8.00pm there are also vacancies for children to join, the Contact is Colin Ward 01424 852413

Tuesday 17 February: Pilates are in Udimore Community Hall at 9am Painting for Pleasure is at 9.30am in Brede Village Hall. 7pm – 9pm 1st Brede Scouts meet in the Scout Hut Stubbs lane for any young person 10½ or over the contact is Andy Bishop 07833065028. The Rainbow Trout has Bingo this evening so it is eyes down at 8.30pm

Friday 20 February: Brede Farmers Market is from 10am – 12 noon in Brede Village Hall. The Brede & Udimore lent lunches begin today; the first is taking place at Garden Cottage Brede 12 – 1.30pm. It might be courteous to phone Bobby(01424 882549) beforehand to say if you are attending. Everyone is welcome; the more the merrier donations are also welcome. Short Mat Bowlers set up at 7.30pm in Brede Village Hall. Live Music from Sam Calver in the Rainbow Trout tonight at 8.30pm

Lent Lunches continued: 6th March at the Rectory Brede. 11 March at Udimore Community Hall.

Saturday 28 February: at Udimore Community Hall the Poetry & Prose evening takes place 7.00pm for 7.15pm. It was such fun last year that people are looking forward to it this year. It is traditional to take along a piece of poetry, verse or whatever to read out. The evening will include a hot supper and costs £15.00 per person.
