Breaking news - Bexhill murder inquiry

POLICE have launched a murder inquiry in Bexhill after a man in his 50s was found dead in the bedroom of a flat in Dorset Road South on Tuesday night.

The man, believed to be the occupant, was found by officers acting on information. Detective Chief Inspector Nick Sloan, of Sussex Police’s major crime branch, is now heading an investigation into the death.

A 27-year-old-man from Hastings has been arrested on suspicion of murder after he presented himself at the front counter of Hastings police station at 10.40pm on Tuesday.

It was after this that the man’s body was found. Police are treating the death as suspicious and do not yet know if a weapon was used. A post mortem was due to be carried out.
