Bognor builder died from asbestosis

A RETIRED builder died after being admitted to hospital suffering from breathing problems, an inquest heard.

Clifford Sheehan had been diagnosed with asbestosis after working at Bedford Power Station before moving to his home in Willowhale Green, Bognor Regis.

The 74-year-old received an industrial injury pension for the condition at the time of his death on September 3, 2007, Chichester County Court was told.

The day before his death he experienced difficulties breathing and was taken to St Richard's Hospital where he died at 3.15am the following morning.

Assistant Deputy Coroner for West Sussex Martin Milward found Mr Sheehan died of natural causes.
