Bodiam

I now have the report by Marie Lapierre the housing officer for AmicusHorizon on her neighbourhood inspection of Levetts Lane. Two gardens untidy, damage to the top green, the corner of the green may have some improvement and the hedge beyond the kissing gates, I am told, will be cut this month. I asked about a skip for the estate. We may get funding for this. A lot of perhaps, but Marie is on the case.

The man who cuts his hedge every day on the main street in Bodiam (we all hope he will not get run over by the many cars to the castle), William Tym, of Old Manor Lodge, Bodiam, has a very big day on June 7. It is his birthday. It is a big one and so he is to give a bus shelter to the village so that Bodiam will not forget him.

The cricket club is away to Netherfield on June 8, starting at 2.30pm.

Just to let the people of Bodiam know who saw me get into a police car the other day and felt it was to take me to the police station. It was our PCSO Demi’s car and we both went to a meeting.

Local bereaved children and young people will benefit from the energy and endeavours of Nick Waterhouse, who will be competing in his first ever triathlon at Bodiam Castle in September. Nick hopes to raise at least £200 for Dragonflies, which supports pre-bereaved and bereaved children and young people aged five-18 years. Dragonflies started in late 2006. Since then more than 1,200 have been helped to cope with their loss. June Maureen Mann, daughter of the late Mrs Morfey, who for some years had a home at Rectory Cottage next to the Parish Room in Bodiam, has died. The funeral service has taken place at Hastings Crematorium. If anyone would like to make a donation in memory of June then pleased give to the British Heart Foundation as June was a volunteer in the Hastings shop.
