Bin collections delayed as leaves and waste '˜freeze over'
Residents have been warned by Horsham District Council (HDC) that some garden waste bins may not be collected today (Tuesday November 29) due to waste ‘freezing over’ as temperatures plummeted overnight.
The council said crews will ‘endeavour’ to empty bins today but some may have to wait until the next collection date.

“They will endeavour to return today, however there may be some households that don’t get collected. If this is the case the bins will be emptied on the next collection date. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
The announcement comes just five days after the controversial decision to move to fortnightly bin collections in the town.
It was approved by councillors last Thursday despite a barrage of opposition from residents who described the change as ‘ridiculous’ and ‘crazy’.
