Bexhill High weekly bulletins

WEEKLY bulletins on progress are being sent to every parent at Bexhill High School after the recent OFSTED monitoring visit.

Executive principal Mike Conn pledged to send home updates on the changes that Inspectors demanded when they visited last month.

The two priorities are improvements to teaching and learning, and demonstration of effective leadership to take the school forward.

Let's Do It is now being printed for parents and the school community on a weekly basis, and can be viewed on the school's website.

It is updated every Friday and today (June 25) will be the third edition.

Mike Conn commented: "We said we would keep parents, and indeed everyone interested in our school, informed of what we are doing, and that's why we have launched Let's Do It.

"It's very simple, there is minimal cost involved, and it is just two pages each week of bullet point information about the changes.

"Let's be clear - the changes are swift and having great impact on the school already. The first edition listed some of what we did in week one of the new school term.

"For example, that included a much stricter policy on poor behaviour in lesson. Such behaviour will not be tolerated, and that is the message we sent home to parents.

"We are encouraging our students and praising them when they do well. We have sorted the issues with staffing in Maths and English, we have some really excellent staff here.

"We are happy to be questioned thoroughly on events here, we have absolutely nothing to hide, and will continue to drive up standards. I accept there will be those who continue to criticise but we are looking forward, and very positively too."
