Bexhill fireworks to commemorate 100 years since end of First World War
As the event falls on Armistice Day, organisers from Shining Lights decided to make it a commemoration to mark 100 years since the end of the First World War.
There were fears the popular event, which is being held at Galley Hill, would be cancelled this year.

Sunday’s event will be raising money towards this year’s Christmas lights switch-on.
Mike Matthews, managing director of Shining Lights, said: “We would like to thank the whole of Bexhill for supporting us. It’s been phenomenal and we believe Sunday’s event is going to be one of the best ever.
“It will be a tribute to all of the fallen in both world wars and our fireworks display will be a special commemoration marking Armistice Day and 100 years since the end of the First World War.

This year’s festivities start at 4pm and will run until 8pm.
The fireworks display itself starts from 6.45pm.
Other attractions this Sunday include children’s fairground rides, plenty of food vendors, bouncy castles, face painting and live entertainment.
At last year’s event thousands of people enjoyed the fireworks extravaganza at Galley Hill.

This year, the Christmas lights switch-on and market takes place on Friday, November 30.
Shining Lights has been responsible for organising Bexhill’s Christmas decorations every year since 2015.
