Bexhill Fair Trade puts on Black Gold

Highly acclaimed film Black Gold which highlights the coffee trade will be shown at Bexhill Playhouse on Tuesday October 2 at 7.30pm.

The showing has been organised by Bexhill Fair Trade, and spokesman Jack Doherty is confident it will appeal to anyone who has interest in ethical trading.

He said: "Black Gold is about coffee, it's about Ethiopia, and it deals with globalisation, consumer apathy and ignorance, but it also deals with what people can do to actually make a change, how people can resolve the problems."

The film was released in the US a year ago, then came out in Britain in June.

Jack said: "It did the rounds but the nearest it got to us was Brighton, so now we have managed to get it to Bexhill.

"Anyone who wants to know about fair trade, ethical investment and alternative models for commerce will enjoy this film."
