‘Axe threat’ allegation

MOTORISTS on the A24 near Horsham may be able to help a police investigation into an allegation that a driver was threatened with an axe on Monday September 12.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “The incident began shortly after 6pm on Monday when the 38-year-old local man driving a silver Toyota Harrier had just negotiated the Great Daux roundabout southbound and was confronted with abuse by the driver of a black Ford Mondeo who waved an axe at him.

“The Mondeo driver is then alleged to have further confronted the victim off the nearby Robin Hood roundabout and issued more verbal threats before speeding off.”
