Author seeks family of flying ace

A local writer is trying to track down family of the late Air Commodore D'Arcy Greig.

David D'arcy Greig was a war hero who was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Force Cross.

He lived in Birchington Close and died in 1986 aged 86. His three children were Jamie,

Jane and Judie, and now author Norman Franks is trying to locate any of them - he believes at least one of them lived locally.

Norman is hoping to develop a manuscript about the life of the Air Commodore, and as a courtesy would like to contact remaining relatives.

He said: "I just hope one of them is around, or that people who knew them might respond."
