Arundel anglers net top catches

Numbers for last week’s Arundel Festival Mullet Fishing Competition may have been down this year – with only eight people taking part.

However, the competition was as fierce as ever between the anglers.

Jon Pearce was crowned this year’s champion after he hooked his 5lb mullet.

Jon also won the Ray Cranham Shield as well as an Arun Angling gift voucher and the heaviest fish pools’ money.

Runner-up was Jake Casson, who managed to catch a respectable 4lb 1oz fish, while Simon Wilcox took third place for his 3lb 1oz scoop.

The event was sponsored by Arun Angling and organised by Mr Casson.

No fish were harmed.
