Anger over post office cuts
THE leader of Arun District Council has slammed Post Office Ltd for closing five branches in Bognor Regis and one in Littlehampton while agreeing to save one in Chichester.
The attack comes following the publication of the Post Office's final Area Plan Decision Booklet for Surrey, Berkshire and West Sussex, which confirms the locations of branches that will now be closed following public consultation.
Councillor Gillian Brown said: "I am appalled by the Post Office's complete disregard of the evidence presented to them concerning the devastating impact these closures will have on our residents.
"The method of this review and decision-making is clearly flawed and to compound this, there is no appeal process.
