Airport set for new owner

A NEW buyer looks set to take over Shoreham Airport after its parent company went into admininstration.

It has been revealed that the Erinaceous Group has debts of more than 250m. Shares in the company were suspended on the London Stock Exchange as of Monday and flights in and out of Shoreham were grounded.

Airport manager John Haffenden said the administrators were unable to allow the airport to operate because of legal and insurance reasons.

But yesterday morning he said: "I'm advised we are in the final stages of having the transfer to a new organisation."

He said all the legal and insurance issues were in place and they were waiting for the deal to be confirmed.
