The ever-popular event returns to the town on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday (May 25 and 26).

The Abbey gatehouse is the backdrop to stalls selling interesting wares, maypole dancing, much loved games, as well as the town’s very own Fighting Knights.

Once again the Battel Bonfire Boyes will be serving their much-loved hog roast.

And on Monday at 1pm there will be a parade down the High Street, leading the May Queen to her crowning on the Abbey Green.

Uta Acuna, president of the Battle and District Chamber of Commerce, said: “This great fun event is free!

“The fayre is in its 24th year and run by volunteers from Battle Chamber of Commerce who would love to see you there!”
