A-LEVELS 2015: The Regis School celebrates best ever pass rates

The Regis School in Bognor is celebrating achieving a 99.5 per cent A-level pass rate - the best in the school’s history.

Today’s results saw continued success for the school in both A and AS level.

“I’m very pleased with our results this year,” said a proud head of sixth form Siobhan Hook.

“We have more students than ever passing with good grades, enabling them to go to universities of their choice, into excellent apprenticeships or good jobs.”

Nearly 100 per cent of pupils achieved A* - E or equivalent, while the percentage of top A* - B grades was eight percent above target at 35 per cent.

Among the top achievers at A2 was Holly Capper, who achieved A* grades in both science and textiles and an A in product design. She is going to Portsmouth University to study architecture.

Ed Steins got an A* in maths, an A in English and B in further maths and he plans to go to Birmingham University to study computer science.

Sam Rickets got an A* in science, an A in product design and a B in business and he plans to study law with business at Nottingham Trent University.

One of the top achievers at AS level was Reece Mears, 17, who achieved no fewer than five A grades. Reece said: “I’m really happy with that.

“I hoped to do well but I wasn’t expecting to get As in all of my subjects.

“You are supposed to drop a subject but I like them all do I’m going to try and continue studying them all next year.”

Katie Green also achieved five AS A grades in maths, chemistry, biology, history and EPQ.

The school’s A* - C grades were also one per cent up at 71 per cent, and students also achieved just as well in academic and vocational subjects.

Performing arts had the greatest success with all students achieving A* grades.

Principal Mike Garlick said: “Our results show continued strength across subjects and I congratulate students and staff for their hard work.
