A lazy Easter Sunday afternoon and all that jazz

A lazy Easter Sunday afternoon of jazz, parasols and drinks was enjoyed at sunny Bognor Regis.

The bank holiday treat was served up on the more than two acres of front lawns of the Royal Norfolk Hotel to an appreciative audience.

Tables and parasols set the tone for a relaxed couple of hours of drinks on the lawn with fine musical accompaniment.

Carla Hendricks and the Ken Morgan Quintet provided two hours of smoky jazz standards, Latin grooves and torch ballards to a mixture of bank holiday visitors, Bognor jazz fans and hotel residents.

Their set ranged from a timely rendition of Easter Parade through Blue Skies to The Lady is a Tramp.

Carla Hendricks wowed the audience with silky smooth vocals while dressed to kill in a sparkly black floor-length ball gown.

The Ken Morgan Quintet demonstrated their repertoire by switching from Latin to swing to jazz with effortless aplomb.

The hotel was packed with diners, residents and coffee shop visitors as well as passers-by who stopped to enjoy the fine barbecue food on offer on the lawn.
