3rd place finish for Show Jumpers

Show jumpers from Bexhill College managed a 3rd place finish in an East Sussex Schools competition at Golden Cross Equestrian Centre.

The team - made up of Libby Horsman, Alia Elliott, Joeley Elphick and Sophie Elliott - has recently been training with International show jumper Liz Howes.

Her expertise had clearly rubbed off as the girls put in a sterling performance against accomplished rivals.

Beginning with a scurry class, one round against the clock, they then moved into the team event.

Libby Horsman and Sophie Elliott both had clear rounds but a few minor faults meant the team had to enter a jump-off. Despite a gallant effort the Bexhill team were pipped into 3rd.

Clare Cole, who lead the side, said; "It was nerve-wracking to watch, but great to get the team competing early in the academic year"

Horsman, who had three clear rounds out of three on the day, competes nationally at pre-novice level along with Alia Elliott.

Bexhill College wishes the team the best of luck as they aim for further success in the team dressage event in November.
