According to an officers’ report: “The new building will allow the relocation of administration staff which will make way for space to be able to provide additional beds with the main hospital areas.

“The proposal is to relocate existing staff and not to increase the number of staff.”

The application describes how the tennis courts’ have not been used for many years, with the surface almost completely broken up.

The hospital’s current administration demands outweigh the space available and future requirements for increased ward spaces ‘necessitates the move for existing offices to a new location’.

The modules would be delivered to the site by a truck and lifted into place by a crane.
