A spokesperson at Chaseley, which looks after people with severe physical disabilities, said, “This is such a great moment for us all and we are one step closer to returning to the ‘normality’ we are all missing so much here at Chaseley.”

Chaseley’s chief executive Lesley Standing said, “It was a positive step forward for us.

“It is a very worrying time for any resident in a care home.

“A lot of our residents used to go out around town and they have really missed that.”
