Storrington company launches next generation herbal tea

A STORRINGTON based tea company aims to revolutionise the traditional British cuppa with a new range of herbal infusions.

In February, Only Natural Products launched the Higher Living range at Biofach, the largest organic trade fair in the world, held in Nuremberg, Germany.

Managing director Keith Garden says tea must change to keep up with the tastes of the younger generation.

“Our new infusions are for those who like the volume turned up when it comes to enjoying a fresher, bolder and altogether brighter cup of herbal tea,” said Keith.

“We wanted our box design, our ingredients and most importantly our taste to match up to consumer expectation,” he added.

A report by Mintel in May identified a younger tea drinking generation with a much more adventurous attitude who are keen to sample new flavours.

The report revealed: “They enjoy the variety of flitting between standard “English” breakfast, speciality and herbal tea rather than just sticking to one type; and they are keen to try new tea brands and new flavours.”

With eight “inspirational infusions” to choose from including ‘Ginger Kick’ and ‘Very Berry’, Only Natural hopes the Higher Living range will attract customers with more exotic tastes.

The company are already doing well in Australia, Scandinavia and Central Europe, and recently even negotiated a deal to sell tea to China.

Upcoming shows for the Higher Living range include visits to the US and Ireland.

People like Britishness - British goods, British quality,” said Keith.

“And we’ve got a strong tea heritage.

“Most countries still seem to think we all sit down at 3 o’clock sharp for cream tea and cucumber sandwiches.”
