Ice creams prove hit in Henfield pop-up shop

Businesswoman Fiona Ayres will take over managing Stoke Newsagents at the end of July. She wanted to add ice cream to the shop’s offering range, so to test out the idea, she opened a pop-up shop.

A fortnight ago the Ivy House in High Street became temporary home to the parlour before it moves to Stokes.

Fiona said: “I’m pleased to say that it is a success and has been well received by all ages. Ice cream is loved by all.

“Those familiar with Stokes will be in agreement that it is indeed a perfect location for an ice-cream parlour.

“I’ve always loved Stokes – it is a very successful asset to the village currently selling newspapers, magazines, sweets, stationery and cards and it is steeped in traditional values.

“Stokes has been a valued asset to our High Street for as long as I can remember, and I love its traditional values.

“The only thing I felt that I could do to enhance its range of services is to add an ice cream parlour where customers could sit and literally spoil themselves rotten.”

The shop will remain at this temporary location, opening at weekends for the next few week. Stokes will be under new management from the end of July.
