Whether readers are consumers looking for a service, or a business looking for a local supplier or trade partner, the Horsham District Business Directory is a free comprehensive guide to diverse products and services available in the Horsham District.

The Council is behind the publication and hopes it will promote the development of stronger local business networks and to encourage people to shop locally.

The directory, produced by Horsham District Council in collaboration with Burrows Communications, not only lists business information on a CD but also contains useful information about the economic characteristics of the Horsham District and explains why the Horsham District is such a great place to live, work, start and grow a business.

The CD included in the directory pack allows free access to the information. To enable more detailed analysis of the information, three optional packages allowing mail merge, report production and exporting options can be purchased from Burrows Communications.

The information can also be searched online through the Council’s website (http://www.horsham.gov.uk/business/5561.aspx).

Roger Paterson, Horsham District Council’s cabinet member for the local economy, said: “The new Horsham District Business Directory follows on from the launch of the impressive ‘Think Horsham’ website (www.thinkhorsham.co.uk), which has been specifically designed to help promote the District as the very best place to live, work and do business.

“Amazingly, the Horsham District is already home to over 11,000 businesses, ranging from large international employers, such as Novartis and Royal Sun Alliance, to many thousands of successful home-based businesses.

“I’m sure that firms of all sizes will find that this latest business directory will prove equally valuable both as a research aid to find local suppliers and as a sales aid to recruit local customers.”

Copies of the directories are available free of charge from Horsham District Council’s reception desks at Park North and North Point in Horsham, at libraries across the Horsham district, at Council events and by post.
