Greenfingers: Family-run Worthing florist celebrates 35th anniversary

A family-run Worthing flower shop has celebrated its 35th anniversary with staff past and present.

Daughter Rachel helped out on Saturdays from the start and took over the florist's in 1997, when her mum changed to a nursing career.

By then, Rachel had gained an Intermediate Certificate of the Society of Floristry at Brinsbury College.Rachel Matthews is head floral designer and her talented team of award winning florists create stunning flowers for all occasions, specialising in bespoke wedding flowers.

Daily deliveries of fresh flowers are sourced from British growers, local wholesalers and Dutch flower markets. Rachel also recently launched an exclusive eco flower range.

Rachel said: "My parents first bought the shop in 1987. I helped out from then. We celebrated the shop's anniversary with cake and champagne, inviting back staff from over the years and all the current staff."
