VIDEO: Ice cool Louie plans to wow Hastings

Louie Spence gave a high energy performance and a taste of what the Hastings audience can expect at the press launch, held at Drusillas Zoo Park in Alfrison, of this year’s Aladdin pantomime which will take place at the White Rock Theatre, Hastings in December.

Producer Daryl Back returns to Hastings to showcase a new Aladdin script written for Louie and promises that Louie’s presence and energy levels will ensure this year’s event is the best ever.

The production will feature lots of new songs and live music. The sets are produced by Kudos, the biggest suppliers of pantomime sets in the world.

Louie, who will be in the play from start to finish, will play the character of ‘Slave of the ring’. The character is given the ring by Princess Jasmine, played by Eleanor Sutton.

Louise said: “Pantomime is a real love of mine and this role is something very special and unique with a fabulous script.

“What I love about panto is that you have to please adults and kids and there is a fine line between innuendo and fun.

“I can guarantee the show will be special because I absolutely love pantomime.”

Louis Spence rose to fame after appearing on the Sky series Pineapple Dance Studios. The series was a smash hit and led to Louie being offered his own series, Louis Spence’s Showbusiness.

He was taught to dance and perform at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts where he studied alongside Naomi Campbell who went onto become one of the world’s leading supermodels. He was one of the original cast members of Miss Saigon and later played the role of Mr Mistoffelees in the hit musical Cats.

Louie toured America as a dancer with the Spice Girls on their debut Spiceworld tour and his work as a dancer also saw him take to worldwide concert halls with Take That amongst many others.

Looking back at his career, Louie says he feels very lucky because “I don’t really feel I’ve ever worked a day in my life because I love what I do.”

For aspiring performers Louie offers one important piece of advice: “To follow your dream.”

The pantomime also features Hastings panto favourite Ben Watson in the role of Wishee Washee. Ben returns for his third year at the White Rock Theatre following successful performances in Peter Pan in 2012 and Dick Whittington in 2013.

The Pantomime will run from Friday December 12th to Sunday December 28th with an afternoon and evening performance on most days.
