The concerts are free to attend and take place on the Carfax Bandstand every Saturday.

Free Sunday concerts are also on offer on Horsham Park’s Podium from 2.30pm to 4.30pm every Sunday until August 25 - excluding June 30 to July 21 when Horsham Park’s Human Nature Garden will be hosting concerts organised by Paul Bellringer and the Horsham Garden Music Festival Charity.

Many of the town’s favourite local bands will play as part of the council’s programme, such as Horsham Borough Band and the Slinfold Concert Band, The Mid Sussex Brass Band and the Horsham Royal Air Force Association Band, many returning as popular regulars.

A variety of music will be on offer from big brass sounds to contemporary pop, jazz, acoustic choirs and school bands.

Horsham district councillor Helena Croft, cabinet member for Horsham town communications and special projects said: “These superb bandstand concerts are an annual feature in Horsham’s events calendar and create a lovely festival atmosphere, greatly enhancing Horsham’s weekend shopping experience during the summer months.

“For those coming in to Horsham to listen to the concerts specifically I would encourage visitors to make a day of it and explore some of Horsham’s many independent shops and the Saturday markets.

“Or visit the excellent Horsham Museum and Art Gallery in the Causeway, enjoy the beautiful park landscape, just five minutes walk from the town centre itself or perhaps end the day with a show or movie at The Capitol or a fine meal with friends at one of the excellent town centre restaurants.

“Horsham makes a great day out for families and visitors of all ages.”

All concerts on the Carfax bandstand and Park Podium are organised by Horsham District Council on behalf of the town’s Neighbourhood Councils, who fund the programme from their Special Charges.
