The beauty of HBO’s smash TV show Succession is how good each character is written and performed.
There is not one character in the show who is incidental, they all play a part in the incredible storytelling throughout each season.
With season 4 airing in the UK from Monday, March 27, I have ranked the characters from best to worst. This all comes down to personal preference. I start with my least favourite and end with my favourite.
Ewan Roy - played by the always excellent James Cromwell - is the estranged brother of Logan Roy and grandfather of Greg Hirsch, who lives in Canada. Ewan is the moral, political, and theological opposite of his brother Logan. Photo: Macall Polay
6. Hugo Baker (Fisher Stevens)
Hugo Baker is a communications executive at Waystar Royco. When crisis strikes, he's usually the person strategizing the Roys' next public move. Photo: Graeme Hunter
7. Frank Vernon (Peter Friedman)
Frank is a long-time confident and vice-chairman of Waystar Royco - kind of a Tom Hagen to Logan Roy's Don Corleone. Logan's trust in Frank wanes after he backs Kendall's vote of no confidence in season one. He works his way back into the company. Photo: Warner Media
8. Willa Ferreyra (Justine Lupe)
Connor's fiancée and an aspiring playwright, but it's overly apparent she doesn't care for Connor the same way he does for her. Manipulative. Wedding bells in her future in Season 4. Photo: Graeme Hunter
