Camille journeys to dark side of tune

WORKS by the likes of Nick Cave, Jacques Brel and Tom Waits will get the Camille O'Sullivan treatment when she brings her show La Fille Du Cirque to the Dome in Brighton on September 6.

O'Sullivan '“ a singer, actress, award-winning architect, painter and TV panellist '“ is promising her audience a world inhabited by the bizarre and the wonderful.

The point is that she won't just be singing the songs '“ she will be living them.

"When I started off singing this type of music, my love of it came from the old German tradition of Weimar cabaret, not to be confused with the Sally Bowles version of it," O'Sullivan explains.
