Bexhill Talking Newspaper Association

BEING a Little Common-based organisation, it is natural that Bexhill Talking Newspaper Association should base one of its most popular activities in the village.

It was for that reason that the charity has returned to St Martha's Church Hall for its tea party.

A team of BTNA volunteers collected listeners to the service's weekly tape recorded news and current affairs cassettes and brought them to the hall, where organiser Monica Crouch had provided not only a splendid tea but arranged high class entertainment.

After enjoying sandwiches and cakes, the guests settled down to hear The Regency Singers go through their pleasing repertoire.

The Talking Newspaper's teas are highly-regarded. Not only do they provide an opportunity for listeners, many of whom are house-bound, to get out and mix with other people they give the organisation invaluable feed-back on how the tapes are received by the listeners.

Bexhill Talking Newspaper has provided its service free of charge since 1977.
