Good news as food hygiene ratings handed to 12 Lewes establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to 12 of Lewes’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to 10 restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Franks Real Sausage Company at BN25; rated on June 19

• Rated 5: Jenny's Homebaking at BN7 ; rated on June 16

• Rated 5: Merle's Kitchen at BN7 ; rated on June 15

• Rated 5: Shadow Cakes at BN7 ; rated on June 15

• Rated 5: Sinderella Bakes at BN8 ; rated on June 15

• Rated 5: Talicious at 90 Crisp Road, Lewes, East Sussex; rated on June 15

• Rated 5: The Mac's Farm at BN6 ; rated on June 15

• Rated 5: Crazy Bakers at BN9 ; rated on June 13

• Rated 5: Honey Bakes at BN9 ; rated on June 13

• Rated 5: Slimming World at BN10; rated on June 13

Pubs, bars and nightclubs
