Firefighters are still tackling a ‘well alight’ Hassocks home, which started in a first floor bedroom.

Fire crews were called to the house fire in Sycamore Way, Hassocks, just before 4pm today (March 3), a spokesperson from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (WSFRS) said.

She added: “Fire crews have been called to the fire which is well alight but has not spread onto neighbouring properties.

“The fire started in a first floor bedroom but it has not yet been confirmed how the fire started.

“No injuries have been reported.”

An Incident Support Unit (ISU) was seen travelling towards the blaze on the A27 near the Southwick tunnel.
