A Shoreham writer is celebrating the launch of her debut novel by award-winning publisher Bookouture.

Liz Eeles has written the romantic comedy Annie’s Lovely Choir by the Sea, which is in part inspired by Liz’s experience of singing in choirs. The book has been riding high in the Amazon charts while on pre-order. A keen member of amateur choirs since her school days, Liz currently sings with the long-established Shoreham Oratorio Choir.

Liz’s first novel is about a fictional community in Cornwall, affected by a past disaster, which is brought together by main character Annie through the Salt Bay Choral Society. Early reviews describe the book as ‘a delightful romantic comedy’ and praise it for being ‘happy and funny, heart-warming and romantic, full to the brim with wonderful characters, great storyline and stunning scenery.’

Liz says: “Singing with a choir is a fantastic way of being part of the local community, making friends and having fun. I wanted to bring that into my novel and show that creating music as part of a choir can be therapeutic and healing.’

A former journalist, Liz worked as a communications manager and press officer for health sector organisations in Sussex and London before becoming a full-time novelist. She lives with her family in Gordon Road, Shoreham.

Annie’s Lovely Choir by the Sea is published by Bookouture on May 18 and is available from Amazon, Apple, Googleplay and other retailers.
