Hastings Jack in the Green to go virtual again this year
and live on Freeview channel 276
Organisers were forced to make the decision due to restrictions which will not allow for large gatherings at that point of the year.
Last year saw a live-streamed day-long series of Jack in the Green events as organisers joined forces with Hastings based Isolation Station.
It saw people from as far away as Canada taking part.

This year there will be online events happening, where the public can get involved, from Friday April 30 - Monday May 3, which is the bank holiday.
Chairman Keith Leech said: “We are really disappointed and thought that this year we would be back to the usual, but over that Bank Holiday only six people are allowed to gather and it would be irresponsible to encourage large gatherings.
“Our prime concern has to be the safety of our performers and spectators, it wouldn’t feel good to have somebody ill or dying because of something that is meant to bring joy and pleasure.

Last year people from all around the world popped in some for their first Jack ever, so it looks like livestreaming will be here to stay. Watch this space whatever we do will be fun and keep the spirit of Jack in the Green alive.”
