LETTER: Skate park safety concerns

I hope Mike Reed, former chairman of Steyning Parish Council (County Times June 20) has spoken to the parish council before he concluded that the leisure centre skateboard plan was to be preferred rather than the eminently more suitable Memorial Playing Field site.

I will not go into all the reasons again why parents, who have concerns for their children’s safety, would ever allow their children near a caged facility concealed behind the leisure centre. What he should do is meet with the council and discover for himself the facts behind the two existing plans. I think he may well change his opinion.
