A Littlehampton care home has invited the community to a free event to find out more about keeping your heart healthy in older age.
On Wednesday, March 15, from 2.30pm-4pm, the Care UK team at Darlington Court will open the doors to the care home on The Leas for its heart health event, aimed at older people.
Heart specialist Tracey Molina will be joined by the cardiac rehabilitation team from Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to discuss what heart disease is and how to prevent it.
There will be practical advice given, as well as tips on what signs and symptoms carers should be aware of. Tracey will also be on hand to offer support for those diagnosed with heart disease.
Fiona Wiederkehr, Darlington Court home manager, said: “Here at Darlington Court, we seek to provide in-depth advice to people in the local community, ensuring that we take every measure to promote older people’s wellbeing. We hope this event will increase awareness of heart disease and the preventative measures that can be taken. We hope the local community will join us for what promises to be an interesting and insightful event.”
To reserve a place, contact customer relations manager Julie Bartholomew on Julie.Bartholomew@careuk.com or call 01903 863580.
