A COLLECTION of paintings by Sussex artists has gone on display at Shoreham Airport.
The ARTscape exhibition, which opened on Saturday, features a range of works by the group of nine artists.
It is the group’s second exhibition and vistors had a chance to meet the artists as they browsed on Saturday evening.
William Frank Willoughby is featuring a range of local scenes, along with some moody pieces.
“I am quite adaptable,” he said. “Most of my work is acrylic, but some of these are prints.”
Many of the larger pieces in the exhibition are by Jo Hodder, often with romantic themes.
Shoreham artist Carol Nicolaou loves landscapes, as does Maureen Welfare, whose works are mainly landscapes in acrylic and watercolour, while Christopher West’s work is mostly computerised.
Holly Sellors tends to concentrate on animals, producing some bright and charming work, and Brian Hastings Clough has included scenes at Shoreham Aiport among his selection.
“His work is kind of wispy, but precise as well,” said Mr Willoughby.
One of the group’s newest artists, Angelique Luff, is a Worthing student, who has some lovely pieces on show.
As well as paintings, there are sculptures by Sheila Lea. “I think her work is quite restful,” commented Mr Willoughby.
The exhibition runs until June 16, and is open daily, 10.30am to 5pm. Entry is free.
