Young Harriers rise to the challenge

Haywards Heath Harriers U13 League team produced some excellent performances in the Sussex U13 League Final, comprising of 11 clubs, at K2, Crawley on Sunday 1st September. After finishing 4th in the West Division of the League, it was imperative that they had a complete team out for the final. With 15 boys and 5 girls competing - the largest turnout of male athletes for many years for the club , the team finished a well-deserved 6th place overall. However, due to their league finishing place, this put them into the ‘Plate’ final where they finished overall winners by 2.5 points and received a plate trophy. This is the first time for many years that the U13 team have received a trophy.

“There was a fantastic all round team effort and it was extremely difficult to pick out individual performances ,” said Team Manager Linda Tullett, . “ I was so proud of every athlete who took part and knew they all gave 100 per cent which was terrifically important as we won by 2.5 points so every performance mattered greatly.”
