We have teamed up with the racecourse to offer four great prizes for what promises to be another thrilling season on the Downs.

As reported last week, it’s year two of the ten-year Qatar sponsorship of the summer festival and that week is sure to be the high point. But there’s plenty to look forward to before and after.

Here’s a quick guide to what lies ahead as Goodwood plan for another 19 days of top-class racing:

Saturday, April 30 – Opening Saturday

The 2016 season gets under way with an artisan food festival, featuring a farmers’ market and produce from Goodwood’s own organic farm. Enjoy great racing and discover some regional delights.

Thursday, May 19, to Saturday 21 – May Festival

With superb racing across three days, the May Festival acts as a precursor to the Qatar Goodwood Festival. Exciting young horses are brought to the South Downs for three Listed races and fantastic supporting cards. Watch out for a few Derby and Oaks hopefuls.

Friday, June 3, Friday 10 and Friday 17 – Three Friday Nights

These hugely-popular evening race meetings feature music from globally-acclaimed DJs once the action on track is over. The Parade Ring is transformed into a laser-lit dance floor and electrifying beats fill the air.

Sunday, June 5 – Family Raceday

Explore the jockeys’ weighing room, take a walk of the course, meet a racehorse, ride a finish on a mechanical horse, visit the race start and have fun on the fairground rides. Oh, and enjoy some great racing too.

Tuesday, July 26 to Saturday 30 – Qatar Goodwood Festival

The sporting and social highlight of the summer season, the Qatar Goodwood Festival is Goodwood in all its glory - it’s simply Glorious. The best horses and jockeys descend on the Downs to compete for around £4.9m in prize money. Enjoy great food and drink, wear your finest outfits and soak up the garden party atmosphere.

Friday, August 26 to Sunday, August 28 – August Bank Holiday

Relive the nostalgic summer holidays of yesteryear with this fun race weekend. There’s a dramatic fireworks display set to music on the Friday night and a funfair throughout the weekend. There’s also highly-competitive Group racing on Saturday and Sunday.

Tuesday, August 30 and Wednesday, September 21 – Midweek Racing

With autumnal views across the Sussex countryside as a stunning backdrop, enjoy great racing in a laidback atmosphere. These balmy afternoons are an ideal escape during the working week, offering a chance socialise in beautiful surroundings.

Sunday, October 9 – Season Finale

The Goodwood season comes to a close with the Season Finale, a fantastic afternoon of racing that celebrates the highlights of the year. The leading trainer at the course will be crowned and there is a race confined to jump jockeys.
