Under 16's take league trophy

OUR Lady of Sion School's Under-16 rugby team have won the Southern Area PE Partnership District League title.

They beat St Andrew's in a match played under floodlights at Worthing Rugby Club.

Determination and complete commitment in defence from both sides left the score at 0-0 at half time but Sion came out strongly in the second half, and a good opening try was scored by Ralph Sinnhuber and converted by Nick White.

With their confidence raised, Sion flanker Dom Mayhew soon scored another try. St Andrew's rallied to score a last-minute try but it was too late '“ Sion won 12-5 to take the trophy.

Sion PE teacher Steve Danes said: "The whole match was very positive. It was played in a good spirit and was a high quality of rugby. Sion won through sheer hard work and outstanding defensive play."
