Success for highly rated racehorse owners' group

A RACEHORSE enjoying an outstanding season is Goodwood Treasure, a two-year-old filly chosen for the 17th scheme of the locally-based Goodwood Racehorse Owners Group, known as GROG.

Trained by John Dunlop at Arundel, Goodwood Treasure was second on her debut earlier in the season, and followed up with an emphatic win at Goodwood last month in the Casequest Maiden Auction Fillies' Stakes.

She beat Clive Brittain's Methayel, a filly held in such high regard that she had been entered for today's Cherry Hinton Stekes at Newmarket.

Memory, who beat Goodwood Treasure first time out at Goodwood by only one and a half lengths, went on to victory in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot over the same six furlong distance, which is a good pointer to Goodwood Treasure's talent.

Goodwood Treasure will now be aimed at suitable race and is likely to be stepped up in class.
