The success added to his efforts in the 100m and 200m fly at the south-east regional championships in May, where he came 14th in both and earned a highly-sought-after place on the south-east England regional talent camp and call-up to the Sussex development Squad.

Strowger qualified for 14 events but chose to swim ten and gained second place in both 100m and 200m butterfly, breaking the Littlehampton club record in the 100m.

He was joined by his older brother Callum Strowger, who gained qualification times for the first time in four events (50 and 100m butterfly and 50 and 100m freestyle), gaining significant PB on his 50m freestyle and coming seventh.

Fellow Felpham schoolboy Lewis Cox qualified for two events narrowly missing PBs in 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly.

CHSB pupil William Redwood had a successful championship swimming under the 60-second barrier for the first time. Redwood gained silver in the 50m freestyle and gained personal-best times in the 100m butterfly and 50m freestyle.
