Strong team and individual performances for Haywards Heath Harriers at Hellingly 10k

There were strong individual and team performances from the Harriers at the The John Faulds Hellingly Sussex 10k race this weekend including top ten finishes and age group medals.

Harriers of all generations celebrate their success at Hellingly.

Coming into the race, the 15th in the Sussex Grand Prix, the club was leading the League in the Men’s, Ladies’ and Team categories.

In the history of the competition, both the men and the ladies have won their own leagues, but the Club has never won the overall title, despite coming close on occasion. With five races to go, the Harriers are looking to go one better this time round and secure the overall team title.

The excellent performances at Hellingly will certainly help the Club’s ambitions. 22 Harriers made the trip, finishing second in both the Men’s and Ladies’ categories on the day.

The race, enjoying its 30th year, around the undulating country lanes of Hellingly, was a test of both strength and speed in unseasonably warm conditions and the first of four back-to-back Grand Prix races during September and October.
