Since October, former England legends, such as Richard Hill, Will Carling and Graham Rowntree, have chosen their Samsung try of the month from entries submitted from all levels, ages and forms of the game below the Championship.

Redmayne won the try of the month for December, when he finished off a superb team move in a 32-27 victory against Dorking.

The club, school or university who wins the try of the season award will get the chance to have a training session with two England rugby stars.

Speaking about the award at the time, Carling said: “They’re under pressure but the scrum-half decides they’re going to play a bit with a great inside ball to the wing, who manages to link up with the midfield.

“They keep the ball alive with some good angles and good lines from the forwards and actually a nice little piece of skill, and over for a great try.”

On the try of the month award, Redmayne said: “It was lovely to receive the award for the best try of the month but recognition must also go to the team, as it was a try that involved a lot of my team-mates.

“I think everyone across the back line touched the ball, before I went on to go over the whitewash.

“I did have a little left to do before I touched down but the team were heavily involved.

“It’s also really pleasing to get the recognition that we did from Will Carling, who is a former England captain.

“He had lots of nice things to say about my try and the club as well.”
