Having made a strong impression during this year’s main season, he will again race with HHC Motorsport as the eight-race season gets underway at Snetterton on Saturday and Sunday.

In his first full season in single-seaters, 17-year-old Palmer scored two victories at Snetterton in June and five further podiums at Brands Hatch, Oulton Park, Silverstone and Donington Park.

The strength of these performances was recognised when Palmer was inducted, in August, into the BRDC Rising Stars programme.

Palmer - son of MotorSport Vision chief executive Jonathan Palmer and brother to newly-crowned GP2 champion Jolyon - has raced with HHC since 2012, first in Ginetta Juniors, then making his single-seater debut in the BRDC F4 Winter Championship last year. He scored a victory in just his fifth F4 race.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to contesting the Winter Series with HHC Motorsport.

“They have done an exceptional job this year, which I am sure will continue into the Winter Series, so I am delighted to be staying with them.

“As ever in BRDC F4, it will be very competitive, but with the team’s support and all that I have learnt this year, we are in a very strong position to challenge for the title.”

HHC Motorsport’s Charlie Kemp commented: “We’re delighted that Will is staying with us for the Winter Championship.

“He had an excellent first season in single-seaters, and his performance at Snetterton in June in particular was outstanding. He was quick at every circuit we visited and I have no doubt that he will be a title contender for the Winter Championship.”
