To be fair the visitors could have gone in at the break further in front had not been for Albion keeper David Stockdale, so despite the superb three goal second half fightback will Saturday’s game be looked as Albion’s “Get out of jail free” card come the end of the season? Possibly in the same way that the next 270 minutes for the Albion could define the rest of the season?

Even the most die hard Brighton supporter knows that the unbeaten run cannot stretch to all 46 league games, so at some point the Albion will suffer a defeat.

Many are speculating that it could happen this Saturday when the Albion visit fellow promotion challengers Derby County.

Paul Clement’s side now sit third in the Championship four-points behind the Albion but are many pundits tip for the title, so the result of Saturday’s trip to the East Midlands will be a real benchmark for Chris Hughton’s men.

Next up after that is another potentially tricky trip to QPR next Tuesday, regardless of what’s gone on previously this season, with the arrival of new boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank, the Hoops are probably due a little resurgence.

The intriguing trio of games finishes with the visit of Middlesbrough, currently one place above Derby in second, and the title favourites with the majority of the betting organisations.

Given the superb start to the season, I’m fully aware the footballing gods will almost certainly inflict a blip on the Albion at some point, so at this stage I would willingly accept at least 5 points over the next three games. On a related note however, any local Albion fans not travelling to Derbyshire can get a quality football fix at Woodside Road this Saturday with visit of Guernsey.

With the Channel Islanders travel schedule the game kicks off at 1pm, on production of their Amex season ticket supporters can get in for a fiver and then if they want an extended football fest fans can then hang on for the televised Manchester United vs Bournemouth Premiership in the bar afterwards.

There’s no denying that Tyson Fury’s unanimous points win in Düsseldorf the weekend before last will be viewed in British Boxing history as a tremendous achievement, but I do fear the new World Heavyweight Champion is going to learn a few a harsh lessons about the power of the media.

History proves whatever your natural abilities the press can ultimately make or break you.

Even before his title win the Manchester heavyweight became embroiled in a spat with Daily Mail about the reporting on interview Fury did with their Chief Sports Writer Oliver Holt.

Fury claimed he’d been misquoted, and talked on YouTube of exacting revenge on the reporter.

The Mail tempered by going right on the front foot and printing the entire transcript of the interview and then posting an audio recording of it on their website. Since then just a cursory look on the Mail website, believed to be one of the most visited in the national media, and non boxing negative stories about Fury far outweigh anything positive about his boxing prowess.

In short it appears that the Mail have all but declared a media war on Fury, just what long term damage this and other related negative media coverage elsewhere will have on his career remains to be seen, but he’s almost going to need a press officer of the highest level to turn the situation around in his favour.
