Paul is jockeying to beat his tally of winners for last year's season

ANGMERING jockey Paul Doe has made a good start to 2009, notching up four good wins on the all-weather, along with eight places.

The latest two wins came last week, when he booted home 10-1 shot Nawamees at Southwell, followed by L'Hirondelle at Lingfield Park.

When he started race riding 14 years ago, he was an apprentice with Lady Herries at Angmering Park and weighed in at a mere 5 stone 11lb.

This season he looks set to beat his tally of 24 winners and 36 placed horses in 2008.
