Patience and understanding has made this pony a star

MAKING a mark in dressage is Wellow Dillon, a 10-year-old New Forest pony owned by Val Hall of Barnham.

He is a remarkable success story for Val, who is well respected for achievements with her own home-bred ponies and other more difficult equines.

She explained: " Around five years ago I was looking for a pony as a project to break in and bring on. I'd seen one advertised but was disappointed to find it had been sold.

"Around two years ago I was offered Wellow Dillon, who turned out to be the same one I'd originally wanted. I then discovered he was half-brother to Barnham Street Maddison, which I'd bred the previous year from my grey mare Merrie Maid of Honour.
