Despite showers and the fluctuating wind direction and strength, the day produced some fine performances, including a crop of new personal bests.

In the under-15s, Rachel Hopwood won her 100m race in a great PB of 13.97sec, which she followed with third place in the 200m (PB 29.47). Eve Langford had to settle for good fourth positions in both the 100m (13.74c) and her debut 200m (PB 29.77).

Under-17 Amelie McGurk scored two fine victories – with a well-judged PB run in the 800m (2.28.82) and a strong 300m (45.56) win.

Zac Ferris (U17), having fallen in his 800m, was given a re-run in a later race where he recorded 2.41.91.

Dominic Barth (U20), despite not having a good start, claimed a close third spot in the 100m with a new PB in 11.39. In the 200m, this time with an excellent start, he dominated the race from gun to tape to win in a PB 23.92.

Alfie Spurle (U20) recorded 26.89sec for fourth in his 200m while Fleur Hollyer (U20) ran 13.18 for third place in the 100m, and went on to display her fine bend running technique to win her 200m in style in 27.23.

Rachel Laurie (U23), in her first outdoor 400m for two years, ran a well-controlled race to finish second in 64.17sec

In the 1500m, Digby Fulford (U15) ran a PB 5.28.65 for fifth place, and Gemma Appleton (U17) 5.59.27 for eighth.
