They were among just nine riders from the World Class Development Programme '“ part of the British Olympic Ambition Programme '“ to be selected for the trip.

The aim was for potential London 2012 athletes to experience the Olympic Games not just from the perspective of their own sport but also the whole Games environment.

Sarah, along with fellow dressage riders Darryl Thickitt and Charlotte Du-Jardin, was selected to watch part of three-day event and see the top 25 event riders compete for individual honours, with fellow Sussex-based rider Tina Cook winning the bronze medal.

Charlotte went to Hong Kong with fellow show jumpers William Whitaker and Daniel Neilson and team leader Tina Goosen.
