Olympian support for supporters' club

TINA Gifford's eventing yard at Findon comes under the spotlight this month, spearheading a series of visits for the Gold Medal Supporters' Club launched last week by British Eventing.

The new club gives members exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to top event yards, plus course walks with international riders, all for just 25 a year.

Oympic bronze medallist Tina has been chosen to kick off the scheme.

Members who join online before August 31 will automatically be entered into a free prize draw to win a trip for two people to the European Eventing Championships in Fontainebleau, which takes place from September 23 to 27, 2009.

Nina Baldwinson, an event rider from Chichester, has two horses in training for this season and is aiming for Munstead in March

A great supporter of the new Gold Medal Club, she said: "This is a great chance to get inside the sport and see what makes it tick. You can see up-and-coming horses at the yard visits and pick up top tips from riders on the course walks, plus meet other, like-minded eventing supporters."
